U13 hurlers win over Craobh
Syls u13 hurlers got their 2013 season off to a flying start last Saturday afternoon in Bridgefield with a 6-5 to 2-5 win over a good Craobh Ciaran team, a team Syls struggled againt in u12 last year. Syls got off to a slow start and tended to stand off and admire their opponents a bit in the first half.
Three from three U13 football
U13 Footballers going well in their grading league as they made it 3 wins from 3. The lads racked up a score of 10 g and 15 pts for a comprehensive win over Templeogue Synge Street. John Cox was keeping busy with the stats on the line as there had been complaints about my performance with the clipboard the previous week
U13Bs tough start at Ballyboughal
U13B Grading St Peters Bboughal 8-6 v St Sylvesters 2-0 While Syls suffered defeat in this game the scoreline didn’t really represent what happened on the pitch. Bboughal started with all guns blazing and took an early 1-4 lead. It was a close first half with both teams finding the conditions on the field difficult to say the least.

Magic from Malahide
From The Herald - Plunketts have that bit extra to see off Hollypark in cracker By Diarmuid Geraghty Wednesday November 28 2012. THE big screen welcomed all to Croke Park yesterday. It stated that Cumann na mBunscol have been promoting 'the love of our games since 1928'. And it looks like the beat will go on.
Minutes silence at U12 hurling
The under 12s took on Plunketts ER in their last game of the season with some lovely hurling played by both sides - I think we lost by a few points. The game was preceded by a minutes silence for one of the Plunketts members, Martin O'Dwyer who died suddenly. Well done to Eugene, Dave and Paudie Duffy.
U12 hurlers reach Camaint Final
Well done to St Sylvesters u12 hurling team who reached the Final of the Division 2 Camaint Cup last Saturday in Parnell Park. In the Semi-Final we had a great win over our great rivals Skerries Harps. Unfortunately we had to give best to a very good Craobh Chiaráin team in the final. Throughout the competition the lads show great heart and teamwork combined with no little skill. Well done lads, we are all proud of you. Keep up the good hurling!’ - Eugene
Thanks to U12 coaches
Hello Chairman, On Wednesday evening last, while attending the weekly under 12 football training in old Malahide rugby ground, my son took unwell and fainted. Thankfully he has totally recovered, which was aided I'm sure by the excellent response of all the coaching staff present that evening. I was alerted immediately and an ambulance was called, which duely arrived and took care of our son. Both my wife and I would just like to express our sincere thanks to all of the under 12 coaching staff, Ernie, Jimmy, Des and any others present that I have not mentioned, for their prompt response and the level of care that they provided for our son that evening. Regards and Thanks, Paul and Niamh

The U12 Footballers were out in force again this weekend with 3 teams taking to the field on Saturday afternoon. First up were the A team who were up against a very determined Oliver Plunketts team in Broomfield. It was a closely fought match all the way through and Syls narrowed the lead with only two minutes to go to a single point after Liam Shalloe found the net.
U12s lose norrowly to Vincents
U12F Div1 St Sylvesters 3-06 St Vincents 3-09 This was a keenly contested game with both sides giving 100 per cent. Despite missing a number of players the team that was picked did the club proud. This was the first time our U12's came off a pitch and knew that the game of Gaelic football is not just about fancy footwork. There was some hard but fair challenges from both sides with some fine fielding from Alan Byrne, Josh Reinhardt and Harry Barnes.

U12 footballers at 'Stade de Bridgefild'
On a Sunny evening in the 'stade de Bridgefild' St Sylvester's U12's took on St Finians. The first 10 mins was tight and then flood gates opened. 3 goals and 2 points scored by midfield wizard Liam 'Messi' shalloe and a solid up and down the field performance by Sean 'the engine' O'Donnell meant that on this day Syls would be hard to beat.
