Makes sense, it's a wonderful and social form of exercise and art. Gaelic football was very popular in schools in the San Francisco Bay Area in the '90s as an alternative sport. Again, made sense to me, it's a relatively easy game to play, inclusive and challenging. Never crossed my mind, however, that hurling would be attractive to 'Non Irish'.
