Syl's trio shine for Dublin Ladies

Reigning champions Dublin have secured their place in the 2016 TG4 Leinster Senior final following their 17 point victory over Westmeath today. With two wins from two games Dublin cannot be denied a place in the provincial decider. Next Saturday the Dubs travel to Meath for their final round robin fixture which is provisionally down for a 2pm throw in time in Summerhill (venue TBC). Mannix goal secures hurling championship win

Mannix goal secures hurling championship win

SHC B Gr1 St Sylvesters 1-13 Kilmacud Crokes B 0-14 A very even and well contested game, Crokes led up to about 50 minutes when Mannix fielded a long delivery, wheeled left and blasted a fine goal from about the 21 to give us the lead. Collie Byrne hit a free from over 90 yards and we held off Crokes late charge. Our selection is devestated at this time of year between the Euros, US travel and other reasons. Mannix and Colm Boran stepped up from the juniors and Colm contributed two good points, Anthony, Enda and Graham were very solid at the back, Andrew busy in the middle giving us our second win in the championship. Fionn Carney and Conor Meaney stepped in from the footballers and at least Mikey and Sean Graham from the minors to make this a good club effort.

Paul McBride just pipped in British Amateur Open at the R&A

Paul McBride just pipped in British Amateur Open at the R&A

Wow, what an pity, won the quarter final this morning 2 and 1, down by two with two to play in the semi-final, leveled at 18, level at 19, lost by one shot on the 20th. Obviously another serious Irish golfing prospect and the pride of Malahide. Paul played football and hurling (and often seem sporting his Ui Fhaile shirt) with Syls and Scoil Iosa on the same team as Michael Shiels, Jack Hazely, Eoghan Hammill, Collie Byrne et al, managed by his dad Dave and Fergus Byrne over the years. Dave is coaching our Inter hurlers at the moment also. Congratulations Paul and Dave and Trish, wonderful achievement and obviously plenty more to come. A win at the Open would have qualified Paul for the Masters at Agusta which I hear he parr'ed recently.

U12 Girls unable to recover from poor start against O’Tooles.

U12 Girls unable to recover from poor start against O’Tooles.

The girls travelled to O’Tooles on a lovely evening for football. With no training for two weeks the girls were slow in getting to the pace of the game. The girls struggled with the pace and accuracy of the O’Toole girls. As the half progressed the girls dug deep to register a number of scores.

Adult fixtures to 3rd July

Please see fixtures for next 3 weeks. With matches being moved around due to the summer, etc, please keep me up to date on any changes as I will need to ensure pitches are available. We have a number of midweek and weekend juvenile fixtures to accommodate in Broomfield due to the sheer volume of games and back matches to be played by 3 July so if you change a home game you will need to clear it with me in advance. Where matches are conflicting below I have assigned pitches either Broomfield 1, 2 or 3.
