RIP Hugh Curran

It is with immense sadness that St Sylvester’s offers sincere sympathy to Hugh Curran’s wife Geraldine and his children Eimear, Joanne, Paul & Eoin. Hugh taught a generation of young St Sylvester’s players while also teaching many of our young people at school in St Oliver Plunkett’s National School. Over 30 years Secretary of the Fingal Schools League, Hugh was dedicated to local GAA and his devotion to the school & his students was legendary. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam. Full arrangements >>

Disappointment for Minor Hurlers in MHL2

Disappointment for Minor Hurlers in MHL2

St Sylvester's new All Weather Pitch was much-needed this morning as the rain lashed down for our Minor hurlers Division 2 clash with Clontarf at Broomfield. Behind at half-time, our lads brought the game back on side with a goal shortly after the start of the second half but unfortunately couldn't prevent the Clontarf lads getting the upper-hand by a big difference in the end aided by conversion of more goals chances than we did. Final score; 1-09 to 3-09. Goal from Mick Shalloe, 5 pointed frees from Ciaran McLoughney, points from play by Daragh McLoughney (2), Sean Murphy & Ollie Twomey.
