Seniors good win at Raheny

AFL1 Raheny 1-11 St Sylvesters 2-12 Good win, really should have been more comprehensive but happy enough to get our first win over Raheny in three years. We started slowly going behind by three points before Palmer made a burst at the Raheny defence and Ross finished the move to the net. That picked us up and we maintained parity for a long while, Gary Sweeney in particular, Niall and Conor Meaney all contributing well. Mid second half and down to 14, Sweeney gave us a glimpse of his old self with a wonderful carry, beating four defenders and finishing a great goal. New boy Ed Walsh took over with a great display of point scoring, left and right, inside and outside, great to watch.

Defensively we were in better form today, John Peacock absolutely flying from the corner, Fionn shiped a few big hits, Dave Galvin starting to regain his fom in the middle and well supported by Ronan. Not a classic but a good win nonetheless.
