At St. Sylvester’s, we have the ambition to build a first–class sports campus in Broomfield that matches the expectations & ambitions of our players and which reaches our needs as a fast-growing Club. Our vision is to develop a new facility designed to bring the majority of our games and playing activities into one centralised area at Broomfield Pitches where there is much potential.

We are seeing constant growth in our Club in the past couple of years. Membership has increased year on year by up to 10%.  We are seeing particularly strong growth in our juvenile and ladies/girls sections.  We recognise that this growth needs continued investment in our playing, social and other sporting facilities to both meet this new demand, and also drive further growth in membership numbers.

Our vision is to develop a new facility designed to bring the majority of our games and playing activities into one centralised area at Broomfield Pitches where there is much potential.  We have already begun developing with significant investment in the past three years funded solely by Sports Capital Grants, Club fund-raising events and a number of very generous benefactors from the local community:

2015                Improvements to changing rooms, gym & training area

2013-’16          Development of the new Ball Wall

2017                Installation of Floodlights on Pitch

 Ball Wall

With the installation of new floodlighting to Pitch 2 at Broomfield we have taken the vital first step to begin an All-Weather surfaced facility that can allow both training and the playing of games uninterrupted by wet weather through Autumn and Winter. This is particularly important for our growing number of young players whose progress is being constrained by the lack of such facilities.  We hope that, with agreement and the funds needed, development can begin in early summer of 2019.New Pitch 2 vision

Potential for All-Weather Pitch This Year! As you are aware, we have ambitious plans to further develop our playing facilities in Broomfield to provide the best opportunity for our players to realise their potential. The establishment of an all-weather pitch is the club’s top priority. We have already received phenomenal support, and have raised over €400,000 since June 2017.

The recent weather and how it impacts upon our early season preparations reinforces our belief that we should do all we can to complete this project in 2018, which is possible if we have sufficient funds to fully commit to begin the build.  The first week of May is the key decision time, whereby we need to raise a further €250,000. If not, we will need to wait another 12 months.

Every contribution counts, no matter how big or small. When renewing your membership online you will be given the option to also make a donation. If you want to donate but would rather speak to somebody directly please contact myself, or one of the fundraising team.

If you want to help in other ways, such as arranging fundraising efforts with your team, we ask that you please do so now.The establishment of an All Weather pitch in Broomfield will transform the playing facilities for our club, our local community and our local schools.
For more information please contact: Seamas Early on 0868114820 or Jay O’Toole on 087 2644823.
We will activate a programme of fundraising events over the coming two years to reach this target:

If you would like to discuss the project and how to make a donation please contact Jay O’Toole at / 087 2644823  or Seamas Early on 086 8114820 or speak with your Team Lead Mentor.

The Finance Act 2002 provides for a scheme of tax relief for donations to an approved sports body for the funding of approved projects. The Revenue Commissioners have recognised St. Sylvester’s GAA Club as an Approved Sports Body and the Broomfield All Weather Pitch Developent is recognised as an Approved Project.  Tax relief is available on donations of at least €250.  The Club would welcome donations of any amount and the bigger the donation, the bigger the tax benefit.

The tax benefit is received by the Club at no additional cost to you.
