The U16s had a great draw against a strong St Judes at Tymon in Div1 on Saturday, the U15s snatched a late draw in Bridgefield against Setanta in Div2 while the U14 had a disappointing 10 point loss against Commercials also in Bridgefield.

U16H Div1 St Sylvesters 2-9     St Judes 0-15

On a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Tymon Park we achieved a draw against a very fine St Judes team. It was a true team performance with commitment and workrate that exemplifies the character and spirit of those young men.
Philip Browne in goal had another great day, he ended with a clean sheet and his long puckouts set up many of our attacks.
Our backs were outstanding throughout especially Conor Ryan at fullback, he was very well supported by Karl Stacey and Alan Kavanagh on both corners and all made great clearances throughout the hour.
The halfback line of Kevin O'Flynn, Brendan Flood and Jordan Lawless worked tirelessly against a very strong Judes half forward line. All won great ball and delivered to feed the forwards upfront.
At midfield Conor Quinn and Stephn Cuningham covered huge ground on a very large pitch and displayed all the skills, their workrate was immense.
At half time we were down three points, the forwards increased the pace of the game in the second half. A quick goal finished by Kevin McLoughney put us on level terms. David Sexton had a very good day out, pointing all his frees and one from play giving him a total of five. Owen Costello had a great second half and worked very hard and supplied some great ball.
Our inside forward line were always a threat, Sean Kane was his usual dynamic self and scored two points, Colum Byrne struck our first goal to the back of the net and was very comfortable at corner forward. Daniel McEvoy played the first half on the other corner and played very well (out of retirement) and Dylan Doyle took over at half time and put in a fine performance.
