U14s lose narrowly - twice

Both U14 teams lost tight games at Broomfield. The B team was up first against Raheny, went 3-3 to no score behind before even got out of bed but were unluckt to lose by two in the end of a high scoring and exciting game. The A team eventually lost by a single point after holding Maurs with 14 men for most of the second half.

U14 Div5 Sylvesters 3-10 Raheny 4-9

It's hard to give up a huge lead and hope to win but these guys did just that and were very close in the end but just couldn't get the last goal they needed. In fairness, although Raheny got a lot of early scores, we actually created enough chances ourselves but two fine saves by Rahenys keeper and a bit of wayward shooting left us with a big deficit. Sam Horan, Paddy, Danial Colclough, James Byrne were excellent in the second half in particular.

U14 Div2  Syls 2-05 St Maurs 3-03

After taking a bit of a mauling last week the lads got back on on track and were a little unlucky not to hold out for the draw against a strong Maurs team. This was a very spirited display and the highlights for me were a couple of opportunist goals from Dylan McEvoy, a clever early effort from Colm Boran and two from Eoin Kennedy supported by Ciaran Clifford, Simon Owens and Hugh Murray.
