U14 hurlers win over St Johns
U14H Div3 St Sylvesters 3-8 St Johns Balinteer 3-7 This was a cracking game at Bridgefield on Saturday afternoon and gave us a little consolation after Johns knocked us out of Div2 Feile by a point last week before going on to win that division. This was definitely our best display in a long while, holding them to 1-3 to 1-2 playing against a strong cold wind in the first half and putting our bodies on the line to keep them out in the last few minutes.
One of the features of our game was the impeccable free taking by Colm Boran (must have heard how well Eoin Mc had done the last day), Eoin was excellent in goals, Simon was immense in the middle, Gavin and Paul coped herocially with an excellent St Johns full forward and all round we worked hard and are now looking to Feile next week with some hope.
