U12 B V Whitehall

Our U12b football side played their first match of the season against a strong physical Whitehall side. Although playing with a slight breeze we were level at half time. The 2nd half was different with Syls gaining control through David Moloney and Sean Meehan in midfield. This allowed us to get quality ball in to our ball winning full forward Mikey Keenan.

Because Whitehall are a bigger side we had to pass and move the ball quickly with plenty of support play from Conor O Beirne and Sean Mcferran. Our defence was rock solid with our Captain Johnny Shiels playing a leaders role winning almost every ball played up the middle of our defense while Jack Maughan had a magnificent game at corner back.

We eventually ran our 6.5 to 1.3 winners but it was the performance and effort that was the most rewarding element of the game. Great team effort!
