St Sylvester’s GAA club notes 27th June

— filed under:

The under 16b football team lost their Shield Final to James’s Gaels by a wide margin. The break from competitive games was a real handicap and their performance suffered. Manager, Pat Brennan continues to do brilliant work with this team.

The ladies football team suffered their first serious setback losing to St Margaret’s. They begin their championship campaign in two weeks time.
The under 16 hurlers put up a great performance against Ballyboden but lost despite showing great heart and spirit and a never say die attitude, attributes they gain from the example of manager Eddie Mc Loughney.
The under 12 hurlers took up the challenge of the under 13 P.J. Troy trophy. They performed very well and won one, lost one and drew one. They are a competitive team of fine hurlers and will definitely make a big impact in this competition next year.
The “Summer Hurling Academy” begins next Monday the 5th of July for age 10 to 15 year olds. There will be top class coaching for the whole week. Anyone interested in participating in the camp, please mail sylshurlingcamp@hotmail.com.
