Good displays - no wins - U14 and U15 hurling
St Sylvesters 1-6 Kilmacud Crokes 3 -9
We cringed at our own generosity of two gifted goals from an otherwise mean defence. 2-6 to 0-3 at half time was a poor return on the investment of our efforts. In the second half we matched Crokes score for score. We had a thin squad and picked up a battlefield of injuries. Resources were stretched. Jordan Lawless started at centre half back, went to full forward and scored some fine points and then finished up injured and back in goal. It was that kind of a day. The under 13s are part of the core of this team and playing like veterans. Well done to everyone there was pride in your play and much to gladden the heart. Get out and support them in the Feile on May 16th out in Faughs.
Under 15 hurling
Oliver Plumkett’s 3-11 St Sylvester’s 5-3
We started really well and got an early lead that was squandered. Plunketts took over early in the second half and we battled hard to stay in touch with some fine goal scoring from the ever dependable Sean Kane. Brendán Flood and Jordan Lawless were heroic in defence. This is the most unlucky team in the club with a series of one and two point defeats.
