Please pass out among mentors in your clubs I have a list of upcoming workshop next week and early November – Also worth noticing is the workshop on the FETAC Course in Strength & conditioning for Gaelic Games. We are running a workshop just to give interested mentors & coaches a taste of what will be involved and what the course will entail. It is a great way of seeing if the course will be for them and how it can benefit your team /club. Goalkeeping Clinic for Hurlers
Damian Young, former Tipp goalkeeper and Waterford IT Dev Officer with take a session for all mentors and Hurling Keepers with the aim of the course is to provide coaches with ideas for improving goalkeepers in clearing the ball effectively and marshalling the defense.

FETAC Award – Conditioning for Gaelic Games
Dublin County Board & NADA (National Athletic Development Academy) are holding a free workshop & information night for all mentors of Teams U16+ to introduce this fantastic course. It is desigined to give an insight to the various topics covered and how you can learn develop appropriate conditioning programs for you team. FREE

Date: Wednesday 2nd November 2011
Venue: NADA Head Quarters, Aviva Stadium
Time: 7.30pm

The Need for Speed – High Performance Workshop
Dan Tobin, former Irish representative  at 400m and strength & Conditioning Coach with Leinster Rugby will take a workshop which  aims to provide coaches with new ideas for speed development, with particular emphasis on speed requirements needed for Gaelic Games – Please note this workshop has been switch from 27th Oct  and is now on 3rd November 2011

Coaching the Coaches – Hurling Workshop
Damian Coleman from Portumna GAA Club and Connaught Hurling Dev Officer will take this workshop which is designed for coaches working with hurling teams who aspire to improve there technical and physical performance of their team. The workshop is designed to give you the skills to become a more respected and credible coach. Learn how to communicate more effectively with your team and build confidence.
Date: Friday 4th November of November
Venue:  Faughs Hurling Club
Time: 7.30pm


Hurley Repair Workshop
The aim of the training is to learn the many techniques in the repair & care of Hurley’s including, general repair, know how to band a hurley, Sand and reshaping, Piecing & Dowling along with other skills. Cost €100 (including repair equipment)
Dates: 7th & 9th November
Venue: St David SC Artane
Time: 7.00pm
