U13 football and hurling
On Saturday afternoon in good weather Syls u13 footballers restarted the Div 1 league after the summer break with a good away win over rivals St Maurs. A depleted squad due hols etc ground out a hard fought win. Final score 3-4 to 2-3. The u13 North Dublin Hurling squad were not as lucky with the weather on Sunday morning.
However even in the poor conditions, Simon Owens and Hugh Murray represented Dublin and Syls with two excellent performances in the Dublin jersey. They played two matches against a talented Laois team in Clonad Gaa and won both games. Let's hope it's the first of many. Well done lads. Hopefully Michelle or Eithne will supply a few photos.
Meanwhile, in Bridgefield on Saturday the U13B team played made a valiant effort against a strong first team from Naomh Barrog but lost fairly heavily on the scoreboard, a score that did not reflect the general play.
