St Sylvester’s club notes 7th March

— filed under:

Congratulations to Gary Sweeney and the Dubllin U21 football team on their Leinster Championship win in Dundalk. We had some mixed fortunes for the adult teams. In midweek the seniors travelled to Saggart for the semi-final of the 2009 Vincent de Paul and beat Mary’s to qualify for the final.

The intermediate hurlers lost their Cup game at home while the junior hurlers scored 4 goals in Clondalkin in a six point win. There was a good win in the cup for the intermediate footballers in the Naul and both junior teams have made it to the quarter-finals of their cup competitions. Na Fianna proved too strong for our minor A football team while the minor B's drew with Fingal Ravens. The adult medal presentation night takes place on Tuesday March 16th in the club.
At juvenile level we had good wins for the under 14 and 15 hurlers. The under 16 hurlers put on a fantastic display to defeat Lucan in Division 1. The standard of hurling was of the highest quality and a real treat for the home supporters.
Give your mother a St Sylvester’s gift card and enjoy traditional music in the club on Friday night. The legendary Joe Fortune plays his eclectic set on Saturday.
