4th Annual Golf Classic

The FODH 4th annual golf classic will take place at Castlewarden Golf and Country Club on Thursday, May 28th. Anthony Daly and a number of the Dublin senior players will be taking part. This is our number one fund raising project and we hope that we can have a full time sheet as we have had for the last three years. A team of four will cost €400 and a tee-box can be sponsored for €200.To book a slot call Michael at 087 2331983 or e-mail fodh@eircom.net

Senior Hurlers Preparing for Antrim

Anthony Daly is not looking beyond the Antrim game. On the Sunday Game he stated that his only focus is on Antrim game on June 7 in Croke Park. The training sessions are going extremely well. The commitment of the present group of players is outstanding as shown by their decision not to play club football at the moment.

The good news is that Ross O'Carroll is back training after his injury. It is not sure if he will be ready for the Antrim game. Ronan Fallon is making progress but is extremely doubtful for June 7. In a recent challenge game the Dubs were defeated by Cork. They will play Waterford next week in their final challenge game.

Whitehall Colmcille Win €500

Whitehall Colmcille organised a double decker bus to Nowlan Park for the NHL game against Kilkenny and played challenge games against O'Loughlin Gaels. They had 72 young hurlers in total and had a most enjoyable day in the sun and the brilliant performance of the Dubs was the icing on the cake. Well done to the organisers and the club won the FODH prize of €500.

Alan McCrabbe Wins GPA Player of the Month

Congrats to Dublin senior hurler, Alan McCrabbe, on winning the Opel GPA Player of the Month award for April. He had an outstanding league campaign and finished up top scorer in Division One even though he missed the Kilkenny game. Alan was given the honour for some impressive scoring statistics throughout the league campaign.

Dublin Minors Lose to Laois

Laois 1-9      Dublin 1-6

Dublin minor hurlers crashed out of this year's Leinster MHC when losing to Laois in the quarter final played in O Moore Park on Saturday last. In wet and windy conditions, the young Dubs never hurled with any great fluency and the greater work rate of the Laois players over the hour saw them through to a semi-final meeting against Wexford.

O Ruairc Leads Col Eoin to Victory

Col Eoin 5-12     Portlaoise  2-2

Col Eoin are Leinster juvenile "B" hurling champions for the second successive year after a comprehensive win over Portlaoise in the final in Dr Cullen Park Carlow. Captain, Oisín Ó Ruairc, lead the way for the Stillorgan side and finished with a personal tally of 4-6. The Col Eoin players were superior in all positions and Ó Ruairc was ably assisted in the full forward line by Colm O Néill and Conor Ó Duibhir.
