Awards night celebrates a great year for Syls
And, as our chairman and leader Eddie Sullivan reminded us, we're not done yet!!! No pressure Gabriel and Derek, but . . AFL3, U21, Senior League . . yes please. There were so many successes to celebrate . . Brian Colgan, Clubman of the Year, Sinead's All Star, Darren Clarke Footballer of the Year, Ian McCafferty Hurler of the Year, Michael Howard's tribute to Hall of Famer Billy Reyburn, 39 players nominated over 13 categories, GAA President Christy Cooney's words of congratulations and encouragement, Marty Morrissey's smooth compeering, the overall organisation (Susan, Joan, Bonnie, Gabriel, Francine, Anthony, Leonard, Louise, I'm sure there are many more), and of course, Cathal O'Donnell who chairs the adult games . . . Gabriel sent our best wishes to Inter full back and former club captain, Nicky Cleere . . . and John Keenan pulled it all together with this really cool presentation . . . Hats Off . . .Kudos . . . Syls Hurler honoured at FODH dinner - win a bottle of wine
A prominent member of St Sylvesters hurling fraternity was honoured on Friday night at the Friends of Dublin Hurling dinner as a member of the 1965 Minor Hurling Team that won the All Ireland. Bernard Boran supplied the picture and offered a bottle of wine to the first comment on this article to identify him in the picture.
