Syls Battle hard to earn a win.
U16A Div2 Football, St Sylvesters 3-11 Fingallians 3-10. Thursday evening saw another excellent performance by the U16A Football team at Bridgefield. Syls showed their intentions by coming out of the blocks scoring 4 quick points at the start of the match, only to see Fingallians come back with 3 points without reply followed by a goal putting Fingallians in front. Syls fought back getting back on top, only just and at half time the teams were fairly evenly matched.

Senior footballers lose to Templeogue SS
SFC R1 Templeogue Synge St 1-15 St Sylvesters 2-09 A very disappointing loss in the first round of the championship after a very hot and cold display. We had started well, took a point when a goal was on, a few points then a goal from Darren off a Daly pass and it looked good for us. As usual, not many games are won in the first ten minutes and so it proved yet again.
Ladies Win in Championship
The ladies team made it two from two in the championship in Broomfield on Wednesday evening, coming out on top in a tough game against the Garda ladies. We went 1-2 ahead in the early exchanges but the Garda hit back to level early on. Goals from Macker and Sinead followed by a Carol Hickey point put us 7 points ahead at the break.
Under 15s on a roll
The Under 15 footballers have turned their season around with back-to-back wins in the Division 5 (revised) league. On Tuesday evening at the Castle, Syls emerged 7-11 to 2-8 winners over Cuala with unquestionably the team’s best performance so far.
Looking forward to Christmas
The U16 hurlers have something to look forward to with our top of the tale clash with Crumlin now fixed for Christmas Day . . . don't say we never give you anything!
Junior Footballers qualify for Quarter Final
JFC B St Sylvesters 2-05 Ballymun Kickams 1-06 I only saw the last few minutes - a smashing goal by Andrew Berry to put us a point ahead, a couple of missed frees and a Messi style point by a 'looking good' Barry Cowley. A great win in front aof a good crowd. Quarter Final next Sunday at Broomfield 11.00am against Wanderers or ? Thanks to Killian K for the pictures.
Pictures from the Vincents C'ship game
John Keogh sent these pictures from the victory over Vincents in the Inter Hurling Championship last Saturday.
Girls Minor Team 2012
This is an update on the girls Minor Team for 2012. They traveled to Clonshaugh to play Craobh Chiaran on Monday 14th May 2012. This is the old Club of our Trainer Declan Hetherton, so there was representation from the Hetherton family on both sides.
U11 very busy these days
The U11 footballers continued their good form of late with 2 wins over Skerries in Bridgefield on Saturday. Our 3rd team had a bye so we had almost 30 players despite the numerous absences for Communions but we managed to give all a decent run and take the points.
2 Wins and a narrow defeat for U 12 football teams this weekend
The U12 Footballers were out in force again this weekend with 3 teams taking to the field on Saturday afternoon. First up were the A team who were up against a very determined Oliver Plunketts team in Broomfield. It was a closely fought match all the way through and Syls narrowed the lead with only two minutes to go to a single point after Liam Shalloe found the net.
16 hurlers win at Barróg
U16H Div3 Naomh Barróg 2-03 St Sylvesters 3-12 Two late goals and a couple of points made it look like a big win but it was not a comfortable win. Ciaran O'Carroll settled us early with a well taken goal of a pass from Eoin K, Shane and Ciaran shared points but a good Barrog goal held us to 1-06 to 1-02 at the break.
U12s lose norrowly to Vincents
U12F Div1 St Sylvesters 3-06 St Vincents 3-09 This was a keenly contested game with both sides giving 100 per cent. Despite missing a number of players the team that was picked did the club proud. This was the first time our U12's came off a pitch and knew that the game of Gaelic football is not just about fancy footwork. There was some hard but fair challenges from both sides with some fine fielding from Alan Byrne, Josh Reinhardt and Harry Barnes.
Hurlers great win in the championship
IHC St Sylvesters 3-10 St Vincents 0-10 The hurlers maintained their hundred percent record with a very strong showing against Vincents. This was a much more intense effort by our lads epitomised by Hillary throwing himself in front of a shot at the death, just two days after his wedding . . is that commitment!!
