AFL1 league semi final St Sylvester’s V St Jude’s in Parnell Park on Wednesday 25th January at 7.30. This is a repeat of last years final pairing and Na Fianna play St Oliver Plunketts in the other semi final. We have waited a long time for this fixture and we need to get out and support our team in the biggest game of the season. Following on from last years victory reaching another final would be a great milestone of consistency.

The first trophy of the year has already been won. The Brendan Mullarkey Memorial Trophy brought out a fine collection of youth and “experience” to play soccer in Gannon Park today and also to raise funds for The Nicky Cleere trust. Brendan’s wife Anne presented the trophy to the winning manager Brendan “Don Revie” Bannigan whose modest acceptance speech was as beautifully crafted as his team’s Barcelona like victories. There are unconfirmed reports that senior club officials have already made “approaches”. Many thanks to everyone who supported the event and especially to the Mullarkey family. Brendan’s spirit lives on. It was a very enjoyable day.
Carneys have a night out
Margaret arranged a surprise family celebration in the club a few weeks ago. Both Margaret and Brendan are great workers and supporters of Syls while Aaron, Fionn and Jake are all pretty handy players. Gary does a good job with the function room, it's a great venue for a party.

MFL1 Final Ballyboden St Endas 3-05 St Sylvesters 2-07 We couldn’t be more proud. Let’s celebrate them, their courage, skill and commitment, individually and collectively. All year in both football and hurling these players have given us the most memorable and inspiring performances and delighted us every time. This was another heroic effort from a magnificent team that lead almost all the way. One point was the difference in the end. Well done to everyone involved. You were brilliant all year and a joy to behold.
