News and Match Reports
The Gala Night at the Malahide Grand Hotel was an outstanding success and big big thanks to all who contributed and to our wonderful organising committee for a great night out. Chairman Ciaran Meehan presented special awards to our two very loyal and supportive Trustees Michael Howard and GV Wright in appreciation of their huge contributions to St Sylvesters GAA over the years. Peter supplied some pictures, we sure do scrub up well.
Busy weekend for the Juvenile section - see attached note from Juvenile Chairman Paddy Miskelly - well done all
Our under 16 footballers completed their juvenile football journey on Saturday with their last competitive games at U16. Our A’s had a tricky assignment in Castleknock. A revised throw in time to accommodate the Dublin senior championship final saw us without some key players.
U15 FC Final St Sylvesters 2-12 Ballyboden St Endas 1-07 A really top class display by our lads to beat an equally fine Boden team in a very entertaining game at O'Toole Park in Crumlin. Sean Guiden was awarded man-of-the-match for a great display of point scoring from full forward. Goalkeeper Simon Murphy made two super saves in the first half and saved a penalty at a pivotal point in the second while Euan Farquarsan and Aaron Coleman in the half back line were strong contenders.in what was an all round great display from the Sylvesters team. Ernie will send a report when he catches his breath and Maurice has pictures. Congrats to David 'Super' Ryan, Panner McCarthy and Ernie Brenner.
MFC A Gr1 An excellent six point win away to Ballyboden wasn't enough to see us qualify for the semi finals as Clontarf beat Crokes to take the second spot. Pity really as this team, operating in Div2 of the league, were really taking shape and well justified the decision to push for A Championship participation.

Congratulations to Killian O'Flynn on his selection to the 2016 Nicky Rackard Champions Selection. Killian has been a Fingal stalwart since Fingal started competing in the Lori Meaghar, Nicky Rackard and National League competitions and won a National League Div3 medal in 2013. Killian has been excellent for Syls in the Senior and Inter hurling competitions and is a fairly handy junior footballer to boot.

Peter sent these smashing pictures from the AHL game on Saturday . . . and what about Collie Byrne's fielding . . .
AHL3 St Sylvesters 0-14 St Kevins 2-12 The goals were the difference, both teams hit plenty of wides in a lively game. See some pictures attached from Peter.
MHC D Final Ballyboden St Endas 3-08 St Sylvesters 1-11 A late Ballyboden goal gave them the win in a very entertaining game. Syls settled after a slow sart and were tied 1-06 each at the break. We dominated the second half but poor shooting and a great display from the Boden keeper yielded just five points. Two late goas pegged us back and gave them the win. Lovely morning at Trinity Gaels and a great Syls crowd. Congratulations on a great season..

MFC A Gr1 St Brigids 1-13 St Sylvesters 6-13 Some terrific football again this week keeps us holding on by a thread in the championship. We need a Crokes win over Clontarf or possibly a draw to give us a chance of making the semi's.
AHL3 Erins Isles 0-13 St Sylvesters 4-08 Much improved display from the hurlers this afternoon against a handy enough looking Isles. A smashing early goal from a first time effort by Danny of a great setup by Andrew set the tone. Andrew and Danny were brilliant all through, Collie Byrne ain good form winning lots of high ball as was Simon while Eoin K and Diarmiud also contributed to the scoreboard. Kev Clarke had a great game at the back as had Graham at fullback and Derek in the goals.
